Q:What if I can't connect?
A:It’s possible that your computer lost its Internet connection. This could be due to one of several reasons. Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) could have dropped your connection or your Internet connection might have timed out. For the first reason, you will have to contact your ISP to investigate. For the second, you can set your connection to have no timeout by going to "Start" -> "Settings" -> "Control Panel" -> "Network and Dial-up Connections." Click on the connection you use to get on the Internet and in the "Properties" window, set the inactivity timeout to zero or none.
If you connect through a router (a central device that enables two or more computers to share an Internet connection) and seem to lose connection at regular intervals, the firmware on your router may be outdated. To obtain the latest firmware or more information about firmware, please visit the website for your router manufacturer ( i.e. http://www.linksys.com).
