A:The X's indicate which Cog the Toon's gag is targeting. For instance, if you see a pattern "-X-", that indicates the Toon is targeting the middle Cog out of the 3 Cog group. If you see "XXX", the Toon is targeting all Cogs (with a sound attack). This information can help you battle more effectively. For instance, if another Toon chooses a Squirt gag, you could also choose a Squirt gag and target the same Cog to get the multi-gag damage bonus if you hit. If a Cog's Power Meter is flashing red and another Toon has targeted it, you may want to choose a different Cog to attack since your gag may not be needed to finish the first one off.
